Junior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Junior Internal Auditor will support the Audit and Compliance department in strengthening governance, risk management, and internal controls for the SACCO. Reporting functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the Managing Director, the role ensures compliance with internal policies, Rwandan laws, and best financial practices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual audit plans targeting activities that could cause asset loss or waste.
• Conduct audits to verify compliance with IFRS, Central Bank of Rwanda regulations, and internal policies.
• Identify and report operational shortcomings, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation.
• Review loan files, share, deposit, and interest recordings in the IT system for accuracy.
• Maintain audit evidence, prepare periodic audit reports, and supervise audit-related work of other staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 1 year of auditing experience, preferably in micro‑finance banking.
• Rwandan nationality, not older than 45 years.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with core banking software.
• Knowledge of auditing standards, IFRS, and relevant Rwandan regulations.
