About the role

This remote contract position seeks a native or near‑native Kinyarwanda speaker to support the development of next‑generation AI systems. Your linguistic insight will help train models to understand real‑world language without requiring a technical background.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to and accurately transcribe Kinyarwanda audio and video recordings, adding precise timestamps.
• Capture emotional tone, mood, and speaker intent to enrich AI training datasets.
• Review grammatical structures, sentence patterns, and syntax in Kinyarwanda and English content.
• Analyze idiomatic and nuanced expressions, explaining cultural relevance and usage.
• Support translation validation, data labeling, and linguistic review tasks.
• Maintain high accuracy and professionalism across all written and spoken deliverables.
• Commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week and meet project milestones on schedule.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native fluency in Kinyarwanda with strong English proficiency.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, with attention to linguistic detail.
• Experience in transcription, data annotation, or structured language work.
• Ability to identify and document tonal, grammatical, and contextual nuances.
• Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable remote work setup with necessary tools and connectivity.
