Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

The Cyber Security Specialist will support the development, implementation and monitoring of Britam’s cyber security framework. The role protects business systems, customer and financial data, and digital assets while ensuring regulatory compliance, managing security risks and promoting a strong security awareness culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating, reviewing and improving cybersecurity policies, standards and controls aligned with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Lead monitoring of networks, applications, endpoints, cloud environments and security tools to detect and respond to threats.
• Coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery and lessons‑learned reporting.
• Conduct regular risk, vulnerability and penetration assessments and track remediation to closure.
• Implement data protection controls for sensitive customer, employee and financial information.
• Oversee identity and access management, privileged access, access reviews and segregation of duties.
• Collaborate with IT to secure servers, networks, endpoints, applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Drive security awareness programs such as phishing simulations and training.
• Perform third‑party security due diligence and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, IT, Computer Science or related field.
• 2–3 years of practical experience in cyber security, information security or network security.
• Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security, data protection and IT risk management.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and other international security frameworks.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP or CEH are preferred.
