Investment Manager

About the role

As an Investment Manager at FEDA you will drive the full investment lifecycle for the Direct Investment Fund strategy, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to structuring deals, overseeing due diligence and monitoring portfolio performance. The role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and a deep understanding of private equity, especially direct investments in Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the investment team through all phases of the investment process, including deal origination, evaluation, investment committee participation, portfolio company management, exit strategies and fundraising activities.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify opportunities and evaluate merits of greenfield projects.
• Perform comprehensive financial analysis, modeling and valuation to assess potential investments and monitor the portfolio.
• Oversee deal structuring, prepare term sheets and investment memos, lead negotiations and coordinate execution meetings.
• Execute in‑depth due diligence, engage with target management and analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes and financial performance.
• Coordinate with external due‑diligence advisors, review deliverables and present findings to senior management and investment committees.
• Evaluate and report on portfolio company performance, track key performance indicators and support ESG action plans.
• Prepare regular investment reports for executive management, the board and investors.
• Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes and economic factors affecting investments.
• Assist in fundraising by creating marketing materials and participating in investor meetings.

Required profile
