Human Resources Intern

About the role

WaterAid Rwanda is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support the People Department in delivering HR services across the employee lifecycle. This 40‑hour per week fixed‑term role offers hands‑on experience in recruitment, onboarding, training coordination and employee engagement within a leading international WASH organization.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate electronic and physical employee files and update HR databases.
• Assist in coordinating recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and preparing documentation.
• Post job vacancies and keep recruitment records up to date.
• Support the organization and delivery of staff training sessions, workshops and learning initiatives.
• Help plan and implement staff engagement and wellbeing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
• Basic understanding of human resource management principles.
• Familiarity with Rwanda labour law is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
