Full‑time Lecturer – Public Administration & Good Governance

About the role

The Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri invites applications for a full‑time lecturer position in Public Administration and Good Governance. The successful candidate will join the Department of Public Administration and Good Governance, contributing to teaching, research and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Teach students and ensure adherence to current research and pedagogy.
• Develop teaching materials, select textbooks, and support teaching assistants and laboratory/fieldwork.
• Review and advise on student research proposals and theses.
• Mobilize resources for research, outreach, internships and placements.
• Conduct cutting‑edge research with students and academic staff.
• Guide publication of student research in reputable journals.
• Participate in community development initiatives and faculty governance.

Required profile

• PhD in Public Administration, Good Governance, Political Science, Public Policy, Government Studies or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
• Official equivalence certificate if the degree was obtained outside Rwanda.
• At least two years of teaching, research or professional practice in an academic or relevant institutional environment.
• Demonstrated research record with publications in national or international peer‑reviewed journals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to teach, supervise and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to student success, active learning, ethical leadership and good‑governance principles.
