Finance Intern

About the role
WaterAid Rwanda is seeking a Finance Intern to support its finance team in daily operations and administrative tasks. This role offers practical exposure to financial management, reporting, and compliance within a leading WASH non‑profit organization.
Key responsibilities
- Enter approved transactions into the accounting system.
- Reconcile petty cash and staff advances.
- Assist with basic budget tracking and develop training materials for non‑finance staff.
- Draft schedules for statutory deductions.
- File and organise finance documents such as vouchers and payment records.
- Support audit activities by preparing files and retrieving documents.
- Learn and use finance software, including Sun Systems.
- Support stock counts and manage small cash balances.
- Review partner financial reports for completeness before submission.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Completed degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
Required skills
- Sun Systems (finance software).
