Director of Fundraising

About the role

Inbound Africa Tours (IAT) is seeking a Director of Fundraising to lead all development initiatives from its Kigali office. This senior, full‑time position will shape and execute fundraising strategies that support the company’s growth, sustainable tourism impact, and conservation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive fundraising plans targeting major donors, foundations, corporate partners, and institutional funders.
• Cultivate, steward, and maintain long‑term relationships with high‑value donors.
• Develop and manage annual giving programs, donor communications, and compelling proposal materials.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising campaigns and events, tracking performance against revenue targets.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to align fundraising priorities with organizational strategy and brand positioning.
• Maintain accurate donor records, ensure regulatory compliance, and report outcomes to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience engaging and managing major donors, including cultivation and stewardship.
• Strong communication abilities to craft persuasive narratives and present to diverse audiences.
• Deep knowledge of the philanthropy landscape, with experience working with foundations, NGOs, and CSR initiatives.
• Experience planning, executing, and evaluating annual giving campaigns.
• Strategic planning expertise to align fundraising initiatives with organizational goals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with donor management or CRM systems.
