About the role
World Vision Rwanda is seeking a senior leader to drive its resource mobilization strategy, diversify funding sources and ensure sustainable financial growth. The role reports to senior leadership and works across programmes, finance and communications.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the Resource Mobilization Strategy, aligning funding priorities with the National Strategy and delivering a diversified, sustainable portfolio.
- Build and maintain high‑level relationships with donors, government agencies, foundations and private‑sector partners to enhance visibility and secure new resources.
- Set and achieve annual resource acquisition targets, grow the funding pipeline and negotiate strategic partnerships and consortiums.
- Oversee portfolio performance, improve proposal success rates, retain donors and expand revenue streams for long‑term impact.
- Provide technical support, mentorship and workforce planning for the Resource Mobilization team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Advise senior leadership with timely intelligence on donor trends, financing risks and emerging opportunities.
- Contribute to national office leadership, ensure compliance with policies and promote World Vision’s mission in all mobilization activities.
Required profile
- 7‑10+ years progressive experience in resource mobilization, donor engagement, business development and grant acquisition, including senior leadership responsibility.
- Proven track record securing significant funding from institutional donors, bilateral/multilateral agencies, UN bodies, foundations and private‑sector partners.
- Master’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, Communications or a related field (or equivalent senior‑level experience).
- Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams, strengthen organizational capacity and drive sustainable resource‑mobilization performance.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Project Management expertise (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
