Consultant – Design & Delivery of Capacity Building Session on Innovative Finance

About the role

The United Nations in Rwanda seeks a consultant to design, deliver, and document a one‑month, part‑time capacity‑building session on innovative finance and partnership development for the UN Innovative Finance and Partnership Group (UNIFPG). The assignment will be based in Kigali and carried out under the guidance of the Resident Coordinator's Office.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and develop session content covering development finance, investment structuring, risk management, impact measurement, and donor/investor engagement.
• Facilitate the training session, ensuring interactive learning and knowledge transfer.
• Prepare post‑session reports and documentation for UNIFPG members.
• Coordinate logistics, venue, and catering with the Resident Coordinator focal point.
• Liaise closely with the UNIFPG Chair, Co‑Chair (UNICEF), and relevant UN partners throughout the assignment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics or a related field (or Bachelor’s with two additional years of experience).
• Minimum seven years of professional experience in development finance or a related area.
• Demonstrated expertise in innovative financing instruments such as blended finance and results‑based financing.
