Chief Investment & Business Officer (CIO)

About the role

The Chief Investment & Business Officer (CIO) will lead Bio Usawa Biotechnology’s investment strategy, portfolio management and capital deployment. Reporting to the executive team and the Board, the CIO will act as the primary liaison with investors, partners and regulatory bodies to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the company’s investment philosophy, risk framework and long‑term asset allocation strategy.
• Oversee the investment portfolio, monitor performance, conduct market research and make strategic investment decisions.
• Lead capital‑raising initiatives and manage relationships with institutional, private and impact investors.
• Implement risk management, liquidity and compliance strategies in line with governance and regulatory requirements.
• Direct internal investment resources and supervise external investment managers and advisors.
• Report investment performance, insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the Board.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience in investment management, corporate finance or strategic business development.
• Proven track record in portfolio oversight, fundraising and investor relations.
• Experience in biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare or related sectors is preferred.
• Strong leadership, analytical, governance and stakeholder communication abilities.
