Chief Executive Officer – Quality Assurance Platform

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will set the vision, long‑term strategy and operating direction for AQAC HoldCo across Africa, leading the next phase of growth and platform building.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute growth strategy, expanding laboratory operations into new regions and sectors such as healthcare, food, environmental and industrial testing.
• Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, acquisitions and joint ventures; represent AQAC at regional and international forums.
• Drive sustainable financial performance, overseeing revenue growth, profitability, financial planning and capital allocation.
• Standardise processes across laboratories, improve efficiency, ensure compliance with statutory, export‑market, ISO/IEC and sector‑specific standards.
• Lead digital transformation through LIMS, automation and data‑integrity systems, support R&D and sustainability‑focused testing solutions.
• Develop senior leadership succession plans and foster a culture of safety, integrity, innovation and accountability.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, medicine, biomedical or laboratory sciences, business management, engineering, life sciences or a related field.
• Proven track record as a CEO, COO or senior executive in testing, inspection and certification, healthcare or industrial services.
• At least 15 years of senior executive leadership experience within TIC, healthcare or industrial services.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi‑country operations.
• Deep understanding of laboratory operations, compliance and accreditation standards.
• Experience in African markets and global business management.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to represent AQAC and Afreximbank at senior regional and international forums.
• Strong understanding of Africa’s political, economic and trade landscape.
