Store Clerk – Inventory Management in Poultry Processing

About the role

The Store Clerk supports daily inventory management for a poultry processing plant, ensuring that consumables, packaging, spare parts and tools are available, properly stored and recorded. Reporting to the Store Officer, the role helps maintain uninterrupted production while meeting hygiene, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of stock levels and update daily stock reports.
• Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile them with system records.
• Receive incoming materials, inspect deliveries for quantity, quality and compliance, and coordinate with Quality Assurance for sensitive items.
• Label, tag and categorize stock, ensuring proper storage conditions for temperature‑sensitive or hazardous items.
• Issue items to departments based on approved requisitions and keep documentation for each issuance.
• Monitor stock movements, report discrepancies or low stock promptly, and keep the store area clean, organized and pest‑free.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management or related field (Diploma/Bachelor’s preferred).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or food processing.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards, especially for consumables and packaging.
• Physically fit, able to lift stock and work in a cold, regulated environment.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with inventory management software or systems.
• Knowledge of stock control procedures and store‑keeping best practices.
