Business Development Director - AQAC Holding Company

About the role

AQAC Holding Company is looking for a Business Development Director to drive growth, market expansion and strategic partnerships through structured sales, marketing and key account development. The role identifies new opportunities, strengthens client relationships and positions AQAC as Africa's leading provider of laboratory and quality assurance services, working closely with the CEO, Finance Director and subsidiary leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies, identify new markets and lead market entry, feasibility studies and partnership negotiations
• Build a go-to-market strategy and a structured sales pipeline, negotiate long-term contracts and retain key accounts
• Establish partnerships with universities, research institutions, industry associations, regulators and international TIC companies
• Turn client needs into new service offerings with pricing models, support R&D initiatives and promote digital transformation services (LIMS, AI-driven analytics)
• Drive ESG-linked opportunities such as sustainability-focused testing and certification
• Contribute to revenue and profitability targets, advise on capital allocation and ensure measurable ROI
• Lead and mentor the business development team, build its capacity and plan succession for key BD roles

Required profile

• Proven experience as Business Development Director, Head of Sales or senior executive in TIC, healthcare, industrial services or related sectors
• Strong track record in market expansion, client acquisition and partnership development
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Deep understanding of African markets and global business practices
• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
• Professional certifications in business development, sales or project management are desirable
