Business and Grants Manager, Global Operations

About the role

The Business and Grants Manager, Global Operations will oversee budgeting, grant administration, financial management, and program administration for global, cross‑cutting programs within the Global Conservation division. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Operations, the role supports Program Directors and coordinates with multiple internal departments and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process for assigned programs and maintain up‑to‑date program budgets.
• Monitor revenue, expenditures, flexible funds and restricted grants; produce regular financial analyses and reports.
• Establish and maintain efficient administrative systems, ensuring timely coordination with HR, procurement, contracts and information management.
• Review and approve payment requests, credit‑card transactions and ensure compliance with WCS policies.
• Manage grant agreements, set up new grants in the accounting system, and maintain grant data in the central database.
• Serve as budget lead and grant manager for global grants, supporting regional programs in financial administration and donor compliance.
• Provide guidance on WCS grant management processes, tools and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning and grant management for international programs.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal departments and external partners.
• Strong analytical skills to develop financial reports and support decision‑making.
• Experience reviewing contracts and ensuring policy compliance.
