Associate Director of Operations – School of Business

About the role

The Associate Director of Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership for the African Leadership University School of Business (ALUSB). Reporting to senior leadership, this role oversees the full portfolio of programmes—including the EMBA, postgraduate courses, executive education and special initiatives such as the Public Sector Fellowship—ensuring they are delivered efficiently, on budget and to high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end operational delivery for all ALUSB programmes, covering faculty recruitment, intensive weeks, online delivery, budgeting and reporting.
• Partner with academic, finance, procurement and other teams to align operational execution with programme design and learner outcomes.
• Design and launch new programmes and initiatives, assessing resource needs, delivery models, risks and scalability.
• Translate school priorities into clear operational plans and monitor performance against quality, financial and stakeholder targets.
• Drive continuous improvement by strengthening systems, processes and resource coordination across the school.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operations management within higher education or a comparable complex service environment.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with academic, finance and procurement stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of managing budgets, programme delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on operational excellence and learner success.
