Assistant Teacher Trainer – Inclusive Education

About the role

The Moyo Center is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher Trainer to support inclusive education initiatives in Rwanda. You will work closely with senior trainers to co‑facilitate professional development, coach teachers, and develop practical learning materials.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and co‑delivering interactive training sessions for teachers and school staff.
• Support teachers in implementing inclusive strategies for learners with autism, learning disabilities, and other developmental differences.
• Conduct follow‑up school visits, observe classroom practice, and provide constructive feedback.
• Help draft training presentations, handouts, visual aids, and low‑cost classroom materials.
• Assist in setting up model inclusive classrooms and document success stories for monitoring and evaluation.
• Maintain positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and families during visits and training events.

Required profile

• Rwandan nationality with a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Education, Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, Psychology, or related field.
• 1–3 years of direct teaching experience or early experience assisting in teacher training/coaching.
• Basic understanding of child‑centered learning and inclusive education principles.
• Good facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda.
