Assistant Investment Manager – Strategic Initiatives & AfCFTA Fund

About the role

As an Assistant Investment Manager you will support FEDA’s investment team throughout the full investment lifecycle, with a focus on the Strategic Initiatives fund and the AfCFTA Adjustment Fund. You will help assess high‑impact greenfield opportunities, conduct financial analysis, and contribute to deal structuring, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in deal origination, evaluation, and preparation of investment committee and board materials.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, modeling and valuation of prospective investments.
• Support deal structuring by preparing term sheets, investment memos and coordinating negotiations.
• Perform due diligence, engage with target management, and review advisor deliverables.
• Help develop and monitor value‑creation and ESG action plans for portfolio companies.
• Track portfolio performance, prepare regular investment reports for governance bodies.
• Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes and economic factors affecting the fund.
• Assist in fundraising activities, including creation of marketing materials and participation in investor meetings.

Required profile

• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of private equity and greenfield investments in Africa.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
