About the role
The Assistant General Counsel – Africa provides comprehensive legal support to the Wildlife Conservation Society’s operations across Central, East, and Sudano‑Sahel Africa. Based in Kigali, the role works closely with regional teams and headquarters in New York to minimise risk and ensure compliance with donor and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on contracts, compliance, governance and legal risk management for field conservation programmes.
- Support partnerships with governments, donors and NGOs across 13 African countries.
- Collaborate with management and staff to ensure legal and donor compliance of field and programme teams.
- Provide legal guidance on programme implementation, funding agreements and regulatory matters.
