Tour Consultant

About the role

The Tour Consultant will manage the full life‑cycle of customer satisfaction for foreign tour operators, retail clients, and group tours, while supporting the development and execution of publicly available tours on Kingfisher Journeys’ website.

Key responsibilities

• Design high‑quality itineraries and create content for foreign agents and the company website.
• Calculate accurate quotations, manage bookings, supplier reservations, invoices, payments and ensure compliance with tax laws.
• Maintain regular communication with clients before, during, and after tours to ensure preparation, resolve issues, and gather feedback.
• Coordinate with suppliers (hotels, guides, transport, parks) and oversee bookings, changes, cancellations, and complaints.
• Manage the online booking system, create and maintain activity bookings, itineraries and tours.
• Monitor sustainability commitments and ensure tours are value‑for‑money and profitable.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years experience as a Tour Consultant with in‑depth knowledge of Rwandan tourism (accommodations, national parks, cultural and adventure activities).
• Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English and French; additional language a plus.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, telephone etiquette and a commitment to high ethical standards and sustainability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets.
• Ability to use online booking and management systems accurately.
