Senior Business Development Manager

About the role

Asopo is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to own the commercial relationship for its Pulse platform. The role covers the full sales cycle – from prospecting new customers across Africa, getting them live on the platform, to retaining and growing the accounts. Fluency in English and French is essential as many customers and partners operate in francophone markets.

Key responsibilities

• Run the sales pipeline: qualify inbound leads, prospect outbound, and close deals from the first call to a signed platform agreement.
• Collaborate with Marketing to plan events, develop sales‑enablement assets, shape market positioning and run campaigns.
• Own signed accounts, handling onboarding, renewals, fee negotiations and difficult conversations when default rates rise.
• Price the solution, including platform, per‑account and implementation fees, build and defend quotes and decide when to walk away.
• Work with the delivery team to translate customer requests into feasible features, price them and communicate roadmap constraints, while negotiating contracts in French.

Required profile

• Proven experience in customer success, account management or sales for a software company serving lenders, distributors or micro‑finance institutions in Africa.
• Background in credit operations at a bank or field work in a PAYGO business, with hands‑on experience dealing with both credit committees and field managers.
• Demonstrated ability to close deals, negotiate pricing and manage renewals, and to articulate a clear, non‑AI‑generated vision for growing a business.
