Accounting Associate

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Accounting Associate to join our Fractional CFO Services team. This position is ideal for a fresh CPA graduate or finalist who wants to develop expertise in multi‑client bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax compliance. You will work closely with senior accountants and fractional CFOs, gaining hands‑on experience across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients.
• Post and reconcile transactions, including bank, credit‑card, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Maintain client accounts using cloud‑based accounting systems such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Support preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, corporate income tax) and ensure compliance with RRA deadlines.
• Assist with EBM invoicing, tax advisory research and documentation for audit trails.
• Coordinate with clients to gather financial data and respond to routine queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA certified or CPA finalist; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Understanding of IFRS or local GAAP and basic Rwandan tax regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and professional integrity.
