WASH Engineer – Short‑Term Contract (Rwanda)

About the role

World Vision Rwanda is seeking a qualified Rwandan national to join its WASH team as a WASH Engineer on a short‑term fixed‑term contract. Based in Kigali and reporting to the WASH Technical Design Manager, the engineer will oversee the construction of water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure across multiple districts.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise contractors and monitor progress at 18 health centres and 7 schools in Rutsiro, Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts.
• Ensure all works comply with approved technical designs, BOQs, national standards, World Vision QA/QC plans and donor requirements.
• Conduct water‑resources development studies, site investigations and design reviews.
• Prepare and review technical terms of reference, drawings, designs, bill of quantities, cost estimates and tender documents for water supply, sanitation and hygiene facilities.
• Maintain continuous operation of WASH and health infrastructure and travel regularly to project sites.

Required profile

• Rwandan national with a relevant engineering qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in WASH infrastructure design and construction supervision.
• Ability to work independently, travel frequently and adhere to strict quality standards.
