Truck Operator

About the role

World Vision is seeking a dedicated Truck Operator to support waste and latrine transport activities within refugee camps in Rwanda. You will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Transport sewerage and solid waste from various community sites to designated dumping locations.
• Collect solid waste from designated collection points and ensure timely delivery to disposal sites.
• Assist with the dislodging and relocation of latrines across villages and camp quarters.
• Maintain vehicle safety, cleanliness, and perform regular maintenance according to the fleet schedule.
• Complete daily vehicle checks, fill logbooks, and submit fuel and service requests.
• Adhere to World Vision’s child protection policy, code of conduct, and organizational values.

Required profile

• Advanced‑level certificate, preferably in mechanics or a related field.
• Category C driving permit with experience driving trucks up to 10 MT capacity.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in waste transport or similar truck operations.
• Familiarity with local road rules and travel routes in Rwanda.
• Fluent in English; French and Kinyarwanda are advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel).
