Senior Marine Engineer

About the role

The Senior Marine Engineer will lead the marine and marine‑safety aspects of a major inland‑water gas extraction and processing project. You will ensure that all marine systems are designed, built, and commissioned in compliance with the approved Basis of Design, statutory regulations, and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the client on marine safety and regulatory compliance.
• Review and verify contractor designs for barges, mooring systems, subsea pipelines, risers and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate marine interfaces between barges, anchoring, export pipelines and on‑shore tie‑ins.
• Oversee QA/QC, fabrication, installation method statements and operational documentation.
• Assess contractor deliverables, performance against contracts and readiness for commissioning.
• Identify technical risks, manage change orders and propose mitigation measures.
• Support pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, including barge stability and mooring tension tests.
• Prepare technical reports, meeting minutes and maintain detailed design review records.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in offshore/marine systems and floating production facilities.
• Strong knowledge of international marine standards (API, DNV, ISO).
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering, construction and HSE teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
