Research Scientist I – Clinical Development

About the role

We are looking for a Research Scientist I to join the Clinical Development Department at the International Vaccine Institute in Kigali, Rwanda. The role involves coordinating, initiating and completing clinical research projects while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice and relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and supervise clinical trials, including preparation of protocols and related documents.
• Submit trial documents to the IVI Institutional Review Board (IRB) and ensure ethical compliance.
• Coordinate all activities of clinical research projects to meet high quality standards and protect human subjects.
• Contribute to vaccination campaigns from design through implementation and reporting of results.
• Identify and develop new funding opportunities aligned with IVI’s mission.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in clinical research, public health, or related field.
• Experience in managing clinical studies and familiarity with regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
