Research Manager – NCD & RMNACH Programs

About the role

The NCD & RMNACH Research Manager will lead and coordinate research activities across non‑communicable diseases and reproductive, maternal, neonatal, adolescent and child health programs. Based in Rwinkwavu with regular work in Kirehe district, the role ensures scientific rigor, high‑quality implementation, and strong integration with clinical and programmatic teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement research projects for NCD and RMNACH portfolios.
• Develop research protocols, study procedures, and data collection tools in collaboration with principal investigators.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
• Ensure ethical compliance, data security, and adherence to study protocols.
• Lead quantitative, qualitative, and mixed‑methods study design and implementation.
• Supervise and support data collectors, research coordinators, and field teams.
• Mentor junior researchers and clinical staff engaged in research.
• Oversee quality‑improvement initiatives across both program areas.
• Lead scientific writing, prepare abstracts, reports, and manuscripts for dissemination.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience managing research projects from conception through dissemination.
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior researchers and collaborating with clinical teams.
• Ability to ensure ethical compliance and data security.
