Remote CMS Developer – Build Custom WordPress, Drupal & Craft Solutions

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CMS Developer to design, develop, and maintain custom content management systems for a variety of clients. This fully remote, contract position focuses on creating robust, scalable architectures and delivering responsive, secure web experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale custom CMS applications, including themes, modules, and plugins.
• Implement responsive designs, ensure cross‑browser compatibility, and optimise performance.
• Create custom post types and fields to provide an intuitive editing experience for non‑technical users.
• Maintain site security, manage backups, and apply regular software updates.
• Apply technical SEO best practices and integrate third‑party APIs, CRM systems, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics.
• Collaborate daily with UI/UX designers, back‑end developers, and content stakeholders.
• Document code and technical decisions for future maintenance and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of software development with a strong focus on CMS platforms.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage time effectively.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and attention to design detail.

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid), JavaScript (ES6+).
• Server‑side programming in PHP, Python or Ruby.
• Hands‑on experience with WordPress, Drupal, Craft CMS or Magento.
• API integration, database management, and custom backend architecture.
• Technical SEO, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics.
