Relationship Manager – Local Corporate Banking

About the role

Ecobank is seeking a Relationship Manager for its Local Corporate Banking franchise. The role focuses on acquiring, developing and retaining corporate clients in Rwanda, positioning the bank as a strategic financial partner and driving growth across deposits, lending and transaction services.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, develop, retain and deepen relationships with local corporate customers.
• Develop account plans, identify business opportunities and grow revenue‑generating products such as deposits, loans, trade finance, foreign exchange and digital banking.
• Build strong relationships with senior decision‑makers and conduct regular customer visits to understand financing and transaction needs.
• Originate, analyse, structure and manage credit facilities in line with the bank’s credit policies and risk appetite.
• Prepare credit proposals, financial analyses, annual reviews and supporting documentation within agreed timelines.
• Monitor portfolio performance, arrears, covenant compliance, collateral and emerging credit risks, taking proactive corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions, BNR regulations and internal risk controls.
• Maintain accurate customer records, credit files, call reports and forecasts.
• Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Operations, Treasury, Transaction Banking, Product, Compliance and other stakeholders to deliver seamless service.
• Deliver excellent customer experience through prompt resolution of requests and complaints.
