Program Manager – Teaching & Learning Programs

About the role

Carnegie Mellon University Africa is seeking a highly organized Program Manager to lead the implementation of the Center for Inclusive Digital Transformation of Africa’s Teaching & Learning portfolio. The role will coordinate a diverse set of initiatives across faculty development, teaching innovation, and professional learning, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Associate Director of Teaching & Learning to translate strategic priorities into detailed implementation plans, budgets, timelines and annual work plans.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day delivery of teaching and learning initiatives, monitoring progress, managing resources and reporting to funding partners.
• Facilitate faculty development programs, fellowships, and communities of practice, ensuring effective collaboration among faculty, academic leaders and partner institutions.
• Maintain operational oversight across multiple workstreams, track performance metrics and support long‑term impact assessment.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align activities with the Center’s mission and university policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program or project management within an academic or research environment.
• Strong organizational, planning and multi‑tasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with faculty, partners and institutional leaders.
• Commitment to educational excellence and expanding access to high‑quality engineering and technology education in Africa.
