About the role
The Special Services Agreement (SSA) National Coordinator will provide dedicated national‑level support for the preparation, organization, delivery and immediate follow‑up of the 7th Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in Rwanda. Working under the guidance of WHO, the Rwanda Ministry of Health and other designated focal points, the role focuses on coordination, documentation, information flow and practical implementation support for a high‑profile international event that will bring together ministers, senior officials, technical experts and civil‑society representatives.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and update planning tools, action trackers and timelines for all Summit activities.
- Support the scheduling, logistics and documentation of coordination meetings, ensuring minutes and decisions are captured and disseminated.
- Facilitate communication among national and international focal points, consolidating information and tracking follow‑up actions.
- Assist with practical preparations such as venue setup, participant registration, briefing note preparation and logistics coordination, while respecting delegated authority.
- Provide regular status reports to the Diseases Prevention and Control Cluster Team Leader and liaise with WHO regional and headquarters offices.
- Support the consolidation of technical content, communications clearance drafts and other documentation as requested by senior officials.
Required profile
- Proven experience in coordinating large‑scale health events or programs at a national level.
- Familiarity with WHO processes, Rwanda’s health system and multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Strong organizational, documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under delegated authority, follow guidance from senior officials and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
