About the role
The Biobank Technician I supports the collection, processing, aliquoting, labeling, storage and quality control of biological specimens for clinical trials and research projects. The role ensures compliance with SOPs, GCLP, GCP, biosafety and biobank quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, process, label, aliquot, store, retrieve and prepare specimens for shipment according to SOPs.
- Maintain accurate sample identification, tracking, chain‑of‑custody and inventory records.
- Conduct routine quality checks, document deviations and support audits and continuous improvement.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, refrigerators, freezers and pipettes.
- Monitor supplies, report equipment issues and ensure laboratory safety and confidentiality.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical/Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience handling human biological specimens.
- Knowledge of sample processing, biosafety, GCLP/GCP and documentation standards.
Required skills
- Operation of centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, refrigerators, freezers and pipettes.
- Basic laboratory information systems and computer proficiency.
