National Consultant – Knowledge Product Packaging & Dissemination

About the role

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Rwanda seeks a National Consultant to transform existing research and strategic documents into concise, user‑friendly knowledge products. The consultant will synthesize findings, create policy briefs, advocacy papers, infographics and presentation decks to support targeted dissemination and uptake across stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the economic cost of adolescent pregnancy in Rwanda and produce a policy brief, infographic snapshot (max 2 pages) and advocacy paper, plus a generic PowerPoint for dissemination events.
• Conduct a mixed‑methods assessment of family planning service access among refugee populations, delivering an advocacy paper, infographic snapshot and a generic PowerPoint.
• Develop an infographic snapshot for the SDP Survey.
• Document two best‑practice case studies (midwifery curriculum standardisation and CSE integration in TVET) using UNFPA templates.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Demography, Public Health, Statistics, Development Economics, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in economic evaluation, policy synthesis, demographic research or health‑policy development.
• Proven track record of writing high‑level policy briefs, technical papers and advocacy materials on SRHR, adolescent health or gender issues in Rwanda.
• Deep familiarity with Rwanda’s national development frameworks, health and education sector strategic plans, and youth development strategies.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; working knowledge of Kinyarwanda is highly desirable.
