IT Internal Auditor

About the role

Vision Fund Rwanda is seeking an IT Internal Auditor to plan and conduct audits of its information technology environment. The role provides independent assurance on IT governance, risk management, and internal controls, helping the organization meet regulatory and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute IT audit plans using a risk‑based approach, covering general controls, cybersecurity, governance, and third‑party technology risk.
• Perform data‑analytics‑driven audit procedures, document findings, and track remediation actions to ensure timely closure.
• Monitor emerging IT risks, regulatory changes, and technology trends, and advise management on mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal audit, IT, risk, compliance, and finance teams while maintaining independence and objectivity.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or pursuing CISA; additional certifications such as CISM or CRISC are a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in information systems audit, preferably within banking or micro‑finance environments.
• Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills for presenting findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• CISA (or pursuing), CISM, CRISC certifications.
• Data analysis tools and techniques for audit testing.
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity standards, and IT audit fundamentals.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, operating systems, databases, and banking software such as Orbit Rubikon.
