Head of IT Department

About the role

The Head of IT Department will provide strategic leadership for COPEDU PLC’s IT infrastructure, digital banking platforms and innovation initiatives. This senior role ensures secure, efficient and scalable technology operations aligned with the bank’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT strategies, policies and procedures that support the institution’s objectives.
• Lead digital transformation and technology innovation programs across the bank.
• Oversee management, maintenance and performance of IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, software and core banking systems.
• Ensure data security, integrity, confidentiality and compliance with banking regulations.
• Manage business continuity, disaster recovery, backup and system recovery processes.
• Supervise IT operations including incident, problem, change and configuration management.
• Plan, implement and monitor IT and digital transformation projects, including cloud infrastructure and automation.
• Maintain vendor relationships and prepare periodic reports on IT performance, risks and security.
• Lead, coach and develop the IT team while managing departmental budget and resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of IT experience, including 3 years in a senior banking IT role.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Professional (preferred).
• Strong leadership, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• High integrity and strong work ethics.
