Field Officer – Rwanda

About the role

GiveDirectly is seeking a Field Officer to support its cash‑transfer program in Rwanda. You will be the frontline link between donors, the organization, and households receiving cash assistance, ensuring surveys are administered accurately and that transfers reach the right people.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct census surveys using smartphones, verify data quality, and ensure every household on the roster is reached.
• Distribute tokens and related materials, and register SIM cards for all recipients.
• Explain the program to eligible households, identify ineligible ones, and complete registration surveys.
• Investigate potential fraud or irregularities by administering follow‑up surveys.
• Conduct post‑transfer follow‑up surveys on‑site and remotely, reporting any safeguarding, theft, or fraud incidents to management.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with vulnerable communities.
• Excellent communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging weather or terrain.
• High standards of empathy, honesty, and integrity.
