Entry-Level Banking Operations Associate

About the role

This entry-level position supports daily banking operations across multiple functions, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and customer inquiries are handled promptly. The role offers exposure to cash and non‑cash activities, digital banking, payments, and risk management within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash and non‑cash transactions, payments, remittances, and reconciliations in line with bank policies.
• Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, escalating when necessary to meet turnaround times.
• Assist IT, Digital Banking, Customer Experience, Payments, Legal, Risk, Audit, and Security teams as business needs arise.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports, ensuring completeness and timely submission.
• Support data collection, analysis, and preparation of functional reports.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality, information security, fraud prevention, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (First Class Honors, Second‑Class Upper Division, or equivalent with at least 70%).
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; French is a plus.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, teamwork, adaptability, and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
