Business Development Officer

About the role

FYIRWA TRADING Ltd is seeking a Business Development Officer to join its Kigali office on a contract basis. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting the growth of engineering services, materials, and equipment sales across Rwanda.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in target sectors such as construction and industrial projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with procurement officers, engineers, contractors, and other decision‑makers.
• Conduct client visits, represent FYIRWA in professional engagements, and generate qualified leads and RFQs.
• Follow up on quotations, support conversion into sales, and maintain structured records of client interactions and pipeline activity.
• Collaborate closely with customer service and operations teams to ensure a positive client experience and long‑term partnerships.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in client‑facing environments.
• Results‑oriented mindset focused on achieving targets.
• Excellent organization, follow‑up discipline, and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with LinkedIn networking.
• Familiarity with CRM systems.
