Associate Director, Global Markets Team

About the role

The Associate Director will lead the Global Markets Team (GMT) in shaping CHAI’s market strategy for essential treatment commodities across HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and assistive technology. This senior position drives global supply‑side approaches and builds strategic partnerships to expand access to life‑saving medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement CHAI’s market‑shaping strategy for treatment commodities critical to HAP, nutrition, and assistive technology.
• Lead global supply‑side strategies, ensuring alignment with CHAI’s mission and partner needs.
• Identify, engage, and nurture relationships with suppliers across Africa to support regional manufacturing initiatives.
• Support the CHAI Rwanda team in collaboration with Rwanda Medical Supply, facilitating local procurement and distribution.
• Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with governments, private sector partners, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading market‑shaping or supply‑chain strategies for health commodities at a global or regional level.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse partners, including governments, NGOs, and private‑sector suppliers.
• Strong understanding of the health‑systems landscape in low‑ and middle‑income countries, especially in Africa.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide cross‑functional teams.
