Advocacy & Campaigns Internship – Child Participation

About the role

This internship supports Save the Children’s Child Protection and Child Rights Governance programmes by helping to gather and analyse child‑led evidence on participation in Rwanda and Burundi. You will work closely with the MEAL team and young researchers to shape advocacy and campaign activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate peer child researchers to collect, document and analyse data on child participation.
• Support data validation, quality assurance and interpretation with the MEAL team.
• Assist in preparing child‑centred workshops and campaign activities under the Catalytic Fund.
• Mentor young people in campaign methodology and capacity‑building.
• Facilitate child consultations, collect children’s voices during advocacy moments, and report on outcomes.
• Document and disseminate lessons learned and good practices.
• Ensure safeguarding of all participants throughout the process.

Required profile

• Aged 18‑25 and having completed high school.
• Available full‑time for the entire seven‑month period with no conflicting commitments.
• Demonstrates self‑accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity and integrity in line with SCI values.
