Advocacy & Campaigns Intern – Child Participation

About the role

This internship supports Save the Children’s Child Protection and Child Rights Governance programmes by helping to gather and analyse child‑led evidence on participation in Rwanda and Burundi. The intern will work closely with the MEAL team and young researchers to shape advocacy and campaign activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate peer child researchers to collect, document and analyse data on child participation.
• Support data validation, quality assurance and interpretation together with the MEAL team.
• Assist in preparing child‑centered workshops, hearings and campaign events under the Catalytic Fund.
• Mentor young people on campaigning methods and facilitate child consultations.
• Draft quality reports, disseminate lessons learned and ensure safeguarding of all participants.
• Contribute creative ideas to amplify children’s voices and evidence.

Required profile

• Aged 18‑25 and completed high school education.
• Available full‑time for the full seven‑month period with no conflicting commitments.
• Strong commitment to child rights, safeguarding principles and Save the Children values.
