Program Coordinator - Infrastructure

About the role

The Infrastructure Project Coordinator will lead the day‑to‑day delivery of hospital infrastructure enhancement projects for Operation Smile Rwanda. The role involves finalising timelines, monitoring budgets, coordinating tenancy applications and overseeing contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal project assessments and validate recommendations from engineers and architects.
• Perform bid analyses, supervise contractors, and ensure compliance with work schedules, quality and safety standards.
• Lead weekly site meetings, document decisions, and create progress reports with quantities, change orders and photographs.
• Inspect construction sites regularly to enforce health and safety rules.
• Review engineering drawings, design computations and material samples for compliance with international and local codes.
• Prepare equipment lists for spoke hospitals and coordinate procurement with program, medical and logistics teams.
• Coordinate progress update meetings and conference calls with the Country Manager and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating infrastructure or construction projects, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work closely with clinical, technical and financial teams.
• Strong organisational skills to manage timelines, budgets and documentation.
