Food & Beverage Cashier

About the role

The Food & Beverage Cashier will manage all payment transactions at the Kigali Marriott Hotel, ensuring accurate cash handling and excellent guest service. This position supports the restaurant and bar operations by maintaining a secure and organized cashier workstation.

Key responsibilities

• Process all payment methods in line with accounting procedures and property audit standards.
• Handle cash, perform blind drops, count bank at shift end, and complete cashier reports.
• Transport and secure bank notes, set up the cashier workstation with required supplies, and keep the area clean.
• Follow company safety, security, and uniform policies while maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Greet guests, respond to service needs, answer phones professionally, and support team goals.
• Enter and retrieve information using computers and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods and lifting items up to 10 lb.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses needed.

• Point of Sale (POS) system operation.
• Cash handling and basic accounting procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency.
