Community Engagement & Content Intern

About the role

Data Friendly Space (DFS) is looking for a Community Engagement & Content Intern to help the Analysis Team communicate its work, grow a volunteer analyst community, and enrich DFS analysis products. The three‑month, fully remote internship is paid and offers hands‑on experience with SituationHub, the organization’s flagship digital public good for humanitarian decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Create accessible social‑media posts, blog articles, and short‑form pieces that translate technical analysis into engaging stories.
• Design graphics and visual assets using Canva, adhering to DFS brand guidelines for newsletters, presentations, and reports.
• Support the production and formatting of presentations, reports, and analysis products for internal and external audiences.
• Coordinate and manage the volunteer analyst programme, including communications, task tracking, and community updates via Slack or email.
• Gather volunteer feedback and help shape community programming.
• Assist in the creation of data visualizations and multimedia assets for situation reports, briefs, and data summaries.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
• Comfortable using digital collaboration tools and managing online communities.
• Interest in humanitarian contexts and data‑driven decision‑making.

Required skills

• Slack (or similar communication platforms).
• Data visualization basics.
