Battery Technician

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Battery Technician based in Kigali, Rwanda. The role covers assembling, testing, diagnosing and maintaining battery packs and their electrical systems, with a salary that is negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble battery packs, modules, cells, connectors, wiring and BMS components according to approved specifications, including cell balancing, insulation and sealing, and inspect finished assemblies.
• Run voltage, current, capacity, resistance and charge/discharge tests, record results and check quality before deployment or installation.
• Diagnose faults with multimeters, battery testers and diagnostic equipment, repair or replace faulty components and troubleshoot wiring, connectors and BMS issues.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, support field installation and servicing, and keep accurate records of repairs and test results.
• Follow safe handling and storage procedures, use PPE and report hazards and risks to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in battery assembly, electrical systems, EVs, electronics or a related technical environment.
• Practical experience with battery packs, BMS, electrical testing and diagnostics is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with multimeters, battery testers and other electrical testing tools.
• Ability to perform electrical testing, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
