Backend .NET Engineer

About the role

ServTech Rwanda is seeking a mid‑level Backend .NET Engineer to design, build and maintain high‑traffic services that power USSD and telco charging solutions across Africa, with an initial focus on Rwanda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy backend services using C# and .NET (including .NET Core).
• Maintain and optimise USSD menus, short‑code flows and charging functionality, integrating with MTN Rwanda, Airtel Rwanda and mobile‑money providers.
• Ensure performance, availability and reliability of APIs, adapters and caching layers.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and security standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional C#/.NET development experience.
• Strong SQL skills, including database design, queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues across applications, databases and caching layers.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.
