Adjunct Leadership, Public Policy & Sustainable Development Expert

About the role

The BSc Entrepreneurial Leadership (BEL) programme is a three-year degree aimed at producing ethical entrepreneurial graduates who use technology to solve problems on the continent and beyond. The Adjunct Curriculum & Quality Assurance Expert designs, refines and validates the existing learning components of the programme in line with ALU's Learning Model, supports the periodic review process with a project plan and milestones, and strengthens programme quality, graduate employability and long-term relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Review, refine, design and validate the current curriculum of the Entrepreneurial Leadership programme, with attention to the project plan and timelines
• Assess programme alignment with accreditation requirements, quality assurance frameworks and sustainable development priorities
• Carry out a curriculum gap analysis against global standards, industry requirements and emerging technology trends
• Review learning outcomes, graduate attributes, course sequencing, assessments and competency frameworks, and evaluate the integration of public policy, civic leadership and advocacy competencies
• Benchmark the programme against global sustainability frameworks and recommend partnerships and experiential learning opportunities
• Update course specifications, learning outcomes, assessments, practical activities and programme documentation
• Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty learning designers and industry stakeholders, and take part in review workshops and consultations
• Support quality assurance, accreditation and periodic review requirements, and provide progress updates against milestones
• Help the Programme Manager and faculty implement approved curriculum enhancements

Required profile

• Master's degree in Public Policy, Sustainable Development, Leadership Studies, Environmental Policy, Governance or a closely related discipline
• At least 7 years of experience in academia, industry or both within entrepreneurial leadership and related fields
• Demonstrated experience designing, reviewing or revising undergraduate programmes in entrepreneurship education, innovation ecosystems or business management
• Expertise in entrepreneurial leadership principles, curriculum development and programme review and accreditation
• Knowledge of areas such as civic engagement, business strategy, policy and advocacy, planetary health, social innovation, communications and marketing, and workforce development
• Experience aligning curricula with industry requirements, designing learning outcomes and assessment strategies, and conducting curriculum mapping and quality assurance

Desirable

• PhD or Master's in Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, Technology Management, AI, Business Strategy or related fields
• Experience leading curriculum transformation, accreditation reviews or programme modernization in Rwanda or Mauritius
• Experience with governments, NGOs, international organisations or policy institutions
• Understanding of African development challenges and opportunities
• Familiarity with international frameworks such as the EntreComp Framework
