Linguist/Transcriber – Kinyarwanda (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for native‑level Kinyarwanda speakers to join our global pool of linguists. As a remote contractor you will work on real audio recordings, creating verbatim transcripts and high‑quality English translations that support large‑scale speech‑to‑text and translation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce verbatim transcripts from audio, capturing noises, cross‑talk and other spoken details.
• Translate transcribed content into natural, fluent English while preserving meaning, tone and cultural nuance.
• Review and correct transcripts or translations for accuracy and completeness when required.
• Provide structured feedback on linguistic issues and, when possible, work on both transcription and translation within the same workflow.

Required profile

• Native‑level proficiency in Kinyarwanda.
• Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, language studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (2‑5 years of full‑time translation work).
• Prior experience with spoken‑language transcription is a strong advantage.
