Assistant Accountant – Kigali

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Kigali. The role is fully office‑based and supports the Finance Department in daily accounting operations, from payments to reporting. You will work closely with both accounts payable and receivable functions while ensuring accurate month‑end close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reconcile supplier accounts, AP ageing reports and intercompany balances.
• Prepare payment proposals for local and foreign suppliers and assist with payment processing.
• Review AR ageing reports, support debtor meetings and monitor outstanding receivables.
• Perform daily sales reconciliations and assist with collection activities.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end closing, prepare journals, schedules and management reports.
• Conduct bank reconciliations, fixed‑asset register maintenance and depreciation entries.
• Participate in inventory counts, reconcile inventory records and record related entries.
• Assist internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and following up on recommendations.
• Help prepare annual budgets, periodic forecasts and variance analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and French.
• Professional, reliable and able to work independently.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

What we offer

• Salary range RWF 500,000 – 800,000 per month
