Brewer – Craft Brewery Production Role

About the role

Kweza Craft Brewery is Rwanda’s first and only award‑winning craft brewery. We are seeking a process‑focused, detail‑oriented Brewer to join our production team as we restart operations in a new 1,000‑liter facility and expand our core and specialty beer ranges.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake all stages of the production process from brewing to packaging.
• Clean and sanitize brewing equipment and tanks to maintain high hygiene standards.
• Monitor and record brewing and fermentation parameters, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Manage the Quality Control program to meet brewery standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on brewing equipment and facilities.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products.
• Collaborate with management to plan brew calendars and procure ingredients timely.
• Train and oversee junior brewers.
• Contribute to research and product development with partner laboratories and universities.
• Support brewery events, tours, tastings and external promotions.
• Follow SOPs and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Process‑focused and detail‑oriented individual.
• Hands‑on experience in a commercial production craft brewery.
• Technical education in Brewing Science, Food Technology or related field is preferred, but practical experience is essential.
• Ability to work onsite in a fast‑growing brewery environment.
• Open to candidates for head/lead brewer roles, short‑term resident positions, or volunteers with solid technical knowledge.
